Reason for blog name?

Much like my question yesterday, this one is focused on the bloggers.

If you couldn't guess what the bloody hell my blog's name means, it means I'm an avid fan of movies and books.

After finding out the meaning of Mad Hatter's blog earlier today (it's derived from a Franz Ferdinand song), it made me curious on other blogs' names. Why did you choose the name your blog has?

  1. Top Secret. High Level Classified. To find out what my blog title means results in immediate execution.

...Or I just like to keep it a bit of a secret. I enjoy the mystery that comes with my blog title, and my screen name.

Though I will say this: I could have gone with A Life in Solstice just the same, but I think Equinox sounds better :)

  2. The way I came up with my blog name is kind of convoluted. I knew I wanted it to have something to do with Planet of the Apes. Partially because it is one of my favorite movies and partially because I had a particular image in mind that I thought would make a great banner (which I am now using as my banner).

I was really having a hard time thinking of anything and I was about to scrap the idea and name it "Cheating on my metaphysics final" as a reference to Annie Hall (which I actually currently have as a wordpress blog that only has one entry).

Then one of my friends who is a huge Simpsons fan mention that she thought "Stop the Planet of te Apes... I want to get off" would be a good name. For those that don't know, that is the name of the Planet of the Apes musical that Troy McClure uses to make his big comeback in an episode of the Simpsons.

At first I thought it would be too long but once I got over that I decided that I really liked it.

Wow, that story was far longer than I expected.

  3. Anomalous Material came from a computer game named Half Life. In it, the first "mission" is called Anomalous Material. There isn't really any good reason for it except for the fact that it is my favorite video game of all time.
