So many TV shows, so little time...

Oy, and I thought balancing between watching movies, reading books and writing was complicated already. Now I'm trying to catch up on a number of TV shows, a handful of them still being on the air. Here's a small sampling of the shows I watch(or have just started to watch):

  • Sherlock
  • The Hour
  • Luther
  • Elementary
  • Breaking Bad
  • Black Books
Shows I plan to watch in the very near future:
  • Doctor Who
  • Mad Men
  • Pushing Daisies
  • Downton Abbey
  • Spaced
  • Firefly
And shows I'm thinking about watching:
  • The Wire
  • Boardwalk Empire
  • The X-Files
I want to hear from you. What other TV shows should I take a look at?

  1. Homeland, American Horror Story, Deadwood, Bones, that 70's show and The Big bang theory!

    1. Might see Homeland once season 2's on DVD. Deadwood is also a possibility. Not too interested in seeing American Horror Story, Bones or The Big Bang Theory. I watched the occasional episode of That 70's Show back in the day.

    1. Well, that's two for Homeland. I know a few people who adore The Good Wife, so maybe that's a show I'll watch too. Not so sure about Modern Family. Not too big on sitcoms as of late.

  3. Hehe. You and I are on the same boat my friend. However right now I am concentrating on films, and my usual weekly shows. Poor Breaking Bad season 4 has to wait.

  4. Of course X Files.

Other than that some of these:

    Inbetweeners UK
    Grandma's House
    Party Down
    Shadow Line
    The Shield

    1. Will get on it!

Party Down and The Shield caught my interest, so those are possibilities. Haven't heard of the other ones though.

  5. They're English. Inbetweeners has just had a horrible MTV America remake. Grandma's House is a tiny, low budget awkward sitcom from a standup comedian who I love from his time abusing celebrities on a comic celebrity music game show called Never Mind The Buzzcocks (can also see him in the strange but pretty good micro budget movie Black Pond) - Simon Amstell and The Shadow Line was probably the best British crime drama I've ever seen starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Christopher Eccleston and Stephen Rea amongst others, I'd say its the first UK show to reach HBO levels of quality.

  7. Wow, there are some very good shows on your list. I'd highly recommend Firefly, The Wire, The X-Files (especially the first 4-5 seasons), and Doctor Who.

In terms of other shows, I'd suggest Homicide: Life on the Street, The Shield, Party Down, Freaks and Geeks, Farscape, Sports Night, and Battlestar Galactica.

I'm guessing you've seen a few of these, but some are older so it's hard to say.
