I blog because I love movies and I like to write. So... I writing about movies seemed like a good idea. That is until I write some awesome screenplay that gets sold. Yeah... that's the ticket.
Way back in 2003 I wanted badly to become a movie critic, but had no idea what to do. Saw The Vine (as it was called then) on Rotten Tomatoes, which allowed you to create your own blog and post reviews, interlinked with the website. Did that for years and years, until they decided to change it up. Remove all the personality out of it, and make it an IMDB click and score spam fest. Not to mention as the community grew larger and larger, the quality of discussion equality lowered and lowered.
So I, along with a group of other RT defunkees, came to the world of blogging. Met some LAMBs, moved around, and the rest is history.
i started when i had just gotten laid off from from and had tons of time on my hands---that i didn't know what to do with. i started thinking about things i like to do and things i was good and i came up with writing and movies. well, the rest is history. (i also found the cure to filling up all that time on my hands). now i balance the blog with a full time job.

As I mentioned in that post, part of it came from tiring of repeating myself.
ReplyDeletealso should mention, I got my start writing reviews on everyonesacritic.net but that site started to fall a part so I moved over to my own blog.
