Nick (William Powell) and Nora Charles (Myrna Loy) investigate the disappearance of an inventor. When two people associated with the inventor are killed, it deepens the Charleses' curiosity.
What a fun little movie! Powell and Loy have excellent chemistry together. Knowing that The Thin Man was based on a Dashiell Hammet novel made it more engaging to watch (Hammet also wrote The Maltese Falcon). It's an excellent whodunit that movie lovers and crime fans will just adore.

I am glad that you pay homage to William Powell and The Thin Man. I currently have a draft post talking about B&W classics, and this is one of them. Powell is a favorite of mine (Thin Man, Life With Father, My Man Godfrey). Do you think Depp will do a good job as The Thin Man?
ReplyDeleteThis is the only Thin Man movie that I've seen. I liked it, but it didn't make me want to go out and hunt down all the others.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't help but notice all the drinking in the movie. I mean they even get woken up at 3 in the morning and the first thing he does is mix a martini.
