The best part of watching it on VOD was that I got to fast forward through that opening sequence. and am I the only one that was bothered by the fact that the two sisters had different accents that were never addressed? At least I think they weren't.Brittani Burnhamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07975067259283007280noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8073025888325415158.post-62745340830724485472012-07-04T11:27:26.197-04:002012-07-04T11:27:26.197-04:00It's my favorite movie by Von Trier mostly bec...It's my favorite movie by Von Trier mostly because it is not soiled with his usual shocking for the sake of shocking moments.s.https://www.blogger.com/profile/13987831438787776712noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8073025888325415158.post-16242614085436127432012-07-04T09:23:31.511-04:002012-07-04T09:23:31.511-04:00I have always been predisposed to dislike Lars Von...I have always been predisposed to dislike Lars Von Trier, for various reasons, but I really did like Breaking the Waves. I am very intrigued by Melanchola, and your review piqued my interest further. :-)Stephaniehttp://eclecticbooksandmovies.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8073025888325415158.post-15248322076065562172012-07-04T05:53:32.433-04:002012-07-04T05:53:32.433-04:00There's seems to be quite a lot of love going ...There's seems to be quite a lot of love going around for Melancholia, and I admit the opening sequence looked stunning, but that said, I thought it was not one of Lars Von Trier's best screenplays. The acting and visuals were praise-worthy, thoughChrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09395044055566348346noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8073025888325415158.post-61764998102153533532012-07-03T23:57:07.847-04:002012-07-03T23:57:07.847-04:00While it was really beautiful to look at, and I th...While it was really beautiful to look at, and I thought Kirsten Dunst' and Charlotte Gainsbourg put in brilliant performances (and I agree it was really depressing), I didn't like Melancholia (and I really wanted to!). Maybe it felt too slow, or too depressing, but I just couldn't like it. I really want to see some more von Trier though. Maybe I should keep an eye out for Dogville next?Ruthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00175638828147935702noreply@blogger.com
